Light Viewpoint

The Estendal team was in residence in Lagos throughout June to bring cinema to the parishes of the municipality. We presented four sessions with a program that addresses what it is to be a child, to be a migrant, and to be a woman—reflecting on the housing crisis, the need for revolution, and the value of compassion. We filmed and created with the people of each neighborhood, mixing music with cinema and transforming the screen into a space for encounter, memory, and celebration.

In this session, the curated selection consisted of films that reflect on migration, intrinsic human value, and freedom of movement. The session culminated in a film concert in collaboration with the band TOFU BAD'TRIP, which addressed human flows and the obstacles they face in both concrete and abstract ways.
